Our lab investigates how mammalian cells respond to nutrients to meet cellular and organismal energetic needs. We aim to illuminate the molecular mechanisms that respond to nutrients and understand how these mechanisms regulate physiological processes in health and disease.
We take metabolomics, proteomics and genomic approaches to study the nutritional regulation of liver biology. Since a perturbed liver function is a major component of many metabolic diseases, including diabetes and NAFLD, we hope to better understand the underlying mechanisms to improve health.
